Septic System Overview
Clean, Safe, Great-Tasting Water — Expert Filtration Systems for Your Home or Business.

What to Know
Septic systems provide on-site, underground, wastewater treatment of sewage for a home or business where public sewer is not available. Typical systems include a tank to separate solids from liquids, and a drainfield where the liquid effluent is dispersed into the soil.
AMO Water and Septic provides new installation and repair services for these systems.
Types of Septic Systems
New Septic Systems
1. Site Evaluation
Understand space constraints and grading requirements for the future install. Perform a percolation test (measures how fast water drains through soil) to determine system size required by code.
2. Data Analysis and Design
Our engineers customer design each system to NYS requirements to maximize waste water treatment effectiveness, while minimizing overall project cost. Once the system is designed, a detailed drawing is created capturing the full septic system layout with dimensions of all septic system components. The final system design is reviewed with our customer prior to submittal for permitting.
3. Design Approval
AMO engineers submit the septic system plans for final approval from the town/county. Once approved, all material is ordered and delivered to the job site.
4. System Installation
AMO’s professional installation team starts excavating and installing the system. Typical installation time is 2-3 days depending on the system size, site conditions, and weather. Once installation is complete, AMO’s engineers document the exact as built system and coordinate final inspection and approval from the town/county. After approval, the system is back filled and the site is graded to specification.
Septic System Repairs

Fixing cracked, broken, or clogged pipes. Common causes include root infiltration, ground settlement, pipe material degradation, or heavy ground loads above the piping system.
Pipe repair/replacement
(Most Common)

Repair or replacement of the septic tank or distribution box. Common causes include tank/box degradation due to age or water chemistry (high salt).
Tank and/or distribution box replacement

Fixing or replacing part or all of the drain field, which leaches away the liquids from the system. Common causes include root infiltration, pipe material degradation, or heavy ground loads above the piping system.
